We will be meeting via Zoom daily from 9:00 am to 11:00 am Monday through Friday. Clubhouse members will enjoy projects, connect with each other, and most importantly have fun while safe at home. Explore Ecology Educators will play games and lead activities and workshops.

Join us for the day or just the afternoon, whatever works with your schedule.

As a community service our Clubhouse is free this summer.

Our experienced educators are committed to providing your child with an extraordinary summer! Like our camps, the EE Clubhouse will foster environmental stewardship, focus on experiential learning, and inspire children to connect with nature.

FAQ

What is included in the Clubhouse:?

Up to 2 hours of guided instruction each weekday.

A materials list will be given to parents for the upcoming session and will include things you probably already have like crayons, scissors, etc. The list of materials may also include items like egg cartons that can be reused in art projects. Each activity will be flexible so that campers can use whatever they have at hand.

What is a day at the EE Clubhouse like?

Children can join us from 9:00 am to 11:00 am Monday through Friday during the week of the Clubhouse. We will be doing a check in each morning, lead children through hands on activities, and play games. Morning meetings will be interactive and fun just like our in person camp.

How much time will my camper spend on Zoom?

Each morning we will have a two hour Zoom for kids to connect, do activities together, and have fun.

How familiar do I need to be with Zoom?

Not at all! We can show you how to use Zoom. You will need access to a device that can use Zoom during camp hours.

What materials will I need?

Every child will need a device to log into Zoom and a space where they can do the day’s activities. Each week will have a list of items to gather from around your house that you most likely already have. We will be focusing on reuse materials and will provide substitute recommendations for less common materials.

How involved do I, the parent or guardian, need to be?

Children should be able to manage Clubhouse activities on their own. We do ask that parents are near enough so that they can hear their child. While we will be doing our best to keep everyone engaged, ultimately guardians will be responsible for the safety of their child. If a child chooses to log off or turn off their video, our educators will assume that they are safe at home and not online with us that day. If a parent wants to take part in any of our  Clubhouse activities, we encourage them and/or the whole family to join us!

Clubhouse Expectations

We encourage everyone to have their video on Zoom enabled to make face to face connections, but it’s not a requirement. Please note, we cannot track the engagement of your child without seeing them. Expectations are the same as our summer camps. Respect for each other, our environment, and our Clubhouse leaders is expected from all participants.

The EE Clubhouse will encourage connections and idea sharing, but sometimes we may mute children in order to reduce background noise or allow educators to describe an activity.

Are there breaks?

Stretch breaks will be incorporated throughout the morning. If your child ever needs to step away to get a snack or use the bathroom, they can just go for it.

Are there any outside activities?

We know the importance of getting outside and away from screens. Our educators will be holding classes from our school gardens and showing us the beauty of nature whenever possible. While we are not able to go outside together, our activities will encourage nature exploration. When you sign up for the Clubhouse, you’ll receive a list of activities that families can do outside.

If we miss a session, can we make it up?

If you miss an activity that’s okay, you can join us the next day. We will not be offering make up sessions for any part of the Clubhouse that were missed.

What if we can’t get on Zoom due to a technical problem? What should we do?

We all know the internet can be tricky and unreliable at times. Each morning campers will be let into the Zoom camp session by educators. This can take a few minutes. Contact Rachel if you have issues with Zoom or any difficulty getting into the class. Unfortunately, we cannot help with unstable internet connections and ask that you test this out before signing up for virtual camps. That being said, sometimes technical difficulties happen and we will do our best to help.

If I have other questions, who can I contact?

For any questions or concerns please contact our Camp Coordinator Rachel.
