Show the Beach Some Love at Explore Ecology Beach Cleanups
The beach needs our help! Every Sunday in February, Explore Ecology is holding a cleanup at a beach near you. Help us turn the tide on marine debris and pick up trash before it ends up in the ocean.
Watershed Resource Center Manager, Caroline Bargo says, “We are hoping to inspire action in light of the recent tragedies that have affected so many of our community members. Let’s put our energy into helping our beaches – something that all Santa Barbara residents can rally around.”
Upcoming Cleanups are:
- Goleta Beach on February 4th
- Arroyo Burro Beach on February 11th
- West Beach on February 18th
- Carp Beach (TBD) on February 25th
All cleanups are from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Please check in at our table before the cleanup. Explore Ecology Educators will be available if you have any questions about marine debris and its impact on marine life.
In an effort to reduce single use plastics, we recommend that you bring your own bags, buckets, and gloves.
Thank you for caring about your local beach and making a difference.
See you on the beach!
Wish we could participate. We go to church on Sundays. (we do pick up trash each time we go, but this sounds like a fun event.)
Hi Wendy, We have monthly beach cleanups on the 2nd Sunday of the month at Arroyo Burro Beach from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Hope to see you on the beach!
