November is a time to show your gratitude and be thankful. I’m thankful for mother earth and all of her amazing wonders. Art From Scrap loves her, too! And is inviting you to show your gratitude this month, while appreciating and creating art! Throughout the next month Art From Scrap will be hosting a multitude of events that are not only fun, but will bring you into this new season of gratitude while reusing, recycling, and reducing “waste”.

Come out and learn a new skill to take into the holiday season! During this workshop you will be provided a glass of wine and taught how to mold shapes out of clay to make earrings and pins! With this new skill, you can make personalized gifts, and rock your own designs at holiday parties.
Dream Weavers & Embroiderers of Truth: Fiber Art Show Gallery Opening: Friday Nov 15, 6:00-8:00 pm (FREE)
With the change of season, follows a change in the Art From Scrap Gallery. The show, Dream Weavers & Embroiderers of Truth, will be revealed on November 15, 2019. This show lines gallery walls with beautifully hand crafted pieces- all made of fiber. The artists showing their work are all local, and many are AFS regulars and volunteers. The gallery is saying hello to some new artists with this show, and is very excited to expand the community.
Can’t make it Friday November 15? Well that’s okay, the Gallery is open weekly Thursday and Friday 11:00 am-6:00 pm, as well as Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am-4:00 pm

Finally, the last AFS featured event this month, comes just in time for December: Holiday ornaments!!! What better way to transition into winter than making tree ornaments, drinking wine, and supporting an organization that is constantly appreciating and helping the environment. Sounds like the PERFECT night out to me.
At this workshop you will get to create 2 out 3 pre-set designs to take home. Use as gifts, or to decorate your home. Everyone will be so impressed with your artistic abilities.

Josh was born and raised in Santa Barbara, where his passion and curiosity for the environment began and has continued to grow. During his undergraduate studies, Josh pursued this interest at the University of California at Santa Cruz, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies.
Melissa Dodos developed her passion for creative reuse as a mother of four and elementary educator over the past 25 years. She loves to inspire creativity by connecting people with resources and ideas.
Veronica grew up in San Diego and spent four years in San Luis Obispo studying Animal Science at Cal Poly. As an undergrad she learned lots about livestock, agriculture, and wildlife.
Stephanie began her journey as an educator over twenty years ago working as a preschool teacher in Washington state for a cooperative preschool program affiliated with Whatcom Community College. She loved observing the wonder and curiosity of the children and bringing them out into nature to explore the natural world. She continued her love for learning and got her teaching license and then her Montessori certification and worked as an elementary teacher in Tribal, Public, and Montessori schools. She collaborated to create a school garden and her students loved it so much that it became a special place where they could garden, read, explore, play, and it provided a safe sanctuary for students to calm down and reset when they were having difficult moments.
Morgan’s mermaid soul is always seeking adventure—swimming a relay across the Santa Barbara Channel and taking the first photo of a newborn orca off Anacapa Island being standout experiences close to home.
