New Art From Scrap Workshops for Adults in Santa Barbara
Have you ever attended an Art From Scrap workshop for kids and wished that you could join in on the fun? We’re pleased to announce that our new art workshop schedule includes evening and weekend workshops for adults.
Our series starts off with Exploring Symbolic Drawing with Karen Lehrer on Thursday October 16th, from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Discover how to draw in an abstract and non-representational manner, tapping into inner symbols of the psyche. Participants will experience symbolic drawing in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
This workshop is for anyone, including those who draw objectively (realistically), those with no art background, and everyone in between.
This is strictly an introduction to the concept of non-objective drawing. The only thing needed is an open mind and life experiences. The cost is $25.00. Click Here to purchase tickets online.
Upcoming adult workshops include Quirky Corky Jewelry with Mary Price on Thursday December 11th, 2014, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. $25.00. Mandalas with Marilee Krause on Thursday January 29th, 2015, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. $25.00. and Mosaic Tile Trivets with Gail Hercher on Saturday March 7th, 2015, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. $40.00.
Most materials for the workshops are provided by Art From Scrap, but participants are welcome to bring additional items if they wish. No previous art experience necessary. All workshops include a glass of wine.

Stephanie began her journey as an educator over twenty years ago working as a preschool teacher in Washington state for a cooperative preschool program affiliated with Whatcom Community College. She loved observing the wonder and curiosity of the children and bringing them out into nature to explore the natural world. She continued her love for learning and got her teaching license and then her Montessori certification and worked as an elementary teacher in Tribal, Public, and Montessori schools. She collaborated to create a school garden and her students loved it so much that it became a special place where they could garden, read, explore, play, and it provided a safe sanctuary for students to calm down and reset when they were having difficult moments.

Morgan’s mermaid soul is always seeking adventure—swimming a relay across the Santa Barbara Channel and taking the first photo of a newborn orca off Anacapa Island being standout experiences close to home.
