Support the Next Generation of Environmental Stewards
New! EE MAKERSPACE TRANSFORMATION
Explore Ecology is excited to be embarking on a revisioning of our Art From Scrap workshop. Building upon 30 years of creative reuse programming, the new EE Makerspace will elevate our potential for transformational artmaking. Community members of all abilities and backgrounds will utilize the redesigned Makerspace to explore, rethink, and reuse.
Now more than ever we need your support to ensure that the new EE Makerspace becomes an awesome community resource.

Help us fulfill our mission of empowering our community to protect and preserve the environment. With your support, over 35,000 children a year will receive free environmental education lessons and field trips at Art From Scrap, the Watershed Resource Center, and at thirty School Gardens throughout Santa Barbara County.
Your gift of any amount is greatly appreciated and allows us to more effectively serve our community and continue our important work of educating the next generation of environmental stewards. You can ensure that students have access to a garden, spend time outdoors, and continue to learn about science, art, and ecology.

GIVE THROUGH YOUR IRA
Investing in stocks and mutual funds protects your future—and Explore Ecology, too—when you make a sustaining tax-free gift from your IRA.
How it works:
- Donors age 70½ and older may transfer up to $100,000 directly from IRAs to qualified charities, including Explore Ecology.
- The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a federal tax deduction, so donors who do not itemize their tax deductions can benefit.
- The IRA charitable rollover gift satisfies all or part of the required minimum distribution requirement.
If you would like to make a gift, please ask your IRA administrator to forward your gift to:

Josh was born and raised in Santa Barbara, where his passion and curiosity for the environment began and has continued to grow. During his undergraduate studies, Josh pursued this interest at the University of California at Santa Cruz, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies.
Melissa Dodos developed her passion for creative reuse as a mother of four and elementary educator over the past 25 years. She loves to inspire creativity by connecting people with resources and ideas.
Veronica grew up in San Diego and spent four years in San Luis Obispo studying Animal Science at Cal Poly. As an undergrad she learned lots about livestock, agriculture, and wildlife.
Stephanie began her journey as an educator over twenty years ago working as a preschool teacher in Washington state for a cooperative preschool program affiliated with Whatcom Community College. She loved observing the wonder and curiosity of the children and bringing them out into nature to explore the natural world. She continued her love for learning and got her teaching license and then her Montessori certification and worked as an elementary teacher in Tribal, Public, and Montessori schools. She collaborated to create a school garden and her students loved it so much that it became a special place where they could garden, read, explore, play, and it provided a safe sanctuary for students to calm down and reset when they were having difficult moments.

Morgan’s mermaid soul is always seeking adventure—swimming a relay across the Santa Barbara Channel and taking the first photo of a newborn orca off Anacapa Island being standout experiences close to home.
